The EMS Institute at Sharon Hospital was established in 1998 to assist the EMS providers in Sharon Hospital's service area. Funded primarily through an endowment and overseen by a volunteer board of directors comprised of EMS personnel, ER physicians and educators, the Institute provides speakers and courses on a variety of topics and maintains an inventory of literature, videos and training equipment that may be borrowed by EMS providers in our service area.

The EMS Institute at Sharon Hospital's mission is:

To promote, facilitate, and provide for the education of Emergency Medical Technicians
To promote the advancement of pre-hospital medical care
To enhance the educational opportunities in emergency medicine
To enhance communication among the EMS community
To establish Sharon Hospital as a center of excellence in pre-hospital emergency care
To provide a coordinated outreach to the service area of Sharon Hospital
